Fall Summit Mallorca 2026: Human Connection Comes to Palma
From 6 to 8 November 2026, Palma de Mallorca will host the international autumn summit of Toastmasters District 107.
Around 150 participants are expected from Spain, Portugal, Morocco, Andorra, Algeria, Gibraltar and Tunisia.
The summit will take place at the Escola d'Hoteleria de les Illes Balears and will bring together speakers, leaders and members of the Toastmasters community around one central idea:
HUMAN CONNECTION
It is difficult to imagine a more appropriate theme.
Because communication is not simply about speaking well.
It is about connecting.
Listening.
Understanding.
Finding the right words.
Having the courage to use them.
And creating the conditions in which other people feel able to use theirs.
What Is Toastmasters International?
Toastmasters International was founded in 1924 in California by Ralph C. Smedley.
More than a century later, it has developed into an international community dedicated to improving communication, public speaking and leadership through practice.
According to figures published by the organisation, Toastmasters now has around 300,000 members in approximately 14,600 clubs across 142 countries.
But perhaps the most interesting thing about Toastmasters is what it is not.
It is not simply a traditional public-speaking course.
There is no teacher at the front of the room delivering a lecture while everybody else takes notes.
Members learn by doing.
They prepare speeches.
They improvise.
They evaluate each other.
They chair meetings.
They listen.
They give feedback.
They make mistakes.
And then they try again.
Week after week.
That apparently simple formula has helped millions of conversations become better conversations.
Mallorca Wordsmiths: Speaking in Mallorca Since 2002
Mallorca Wordsmiths Toastmasters was chartered on 14 November 2002.
Today it is the only Toastmasters club in Mallorca that is open to the general public.

European Toastmasters champion and public-speaking specialist John Zimmer will present “Improve with Improv”, examining how improvisation can help speakers become more adaptable, spontaneous and effective communicators.
Michaela Merk — Relational Intelligence
Michaela Merk will explore relational intelligence: the ability to build meaningful connections and how those connections influence conversations, leadership and professional relationships.
