my husband and 3 children(16,14,7) stayed 1 night at the hotel .we were looking for a cheap overnight deal before heading off to the airport on the sunday morning after a 2 week villa holiday.On arriving at the hotel(had a rented car no problems finding the hotel) I was rather disappointed( taking in the tired hotel lobby) and wondered what i had booked my family into.Then there appeared to be a problem with our booking,we had already paid a deposit which hadn`t come up on their computor.The problem was dealt with quickly and with a smile.I had booked 2 superior rooms.the one for 3 was huge had a lovely extended balcolny with sun loungers.room was clean with pleasant furnishings large bathroom with jacuzzi looked out onto the pool and port.second room was on the otherside of the hotel (i had expected a room closer to my husbands)but the room was fine again quite large, jacuzzi,aircon tiny balcony. the views from the 7th floor were fabulous.From the balcony you look out on the port,the

We had enough time to enjoy Palma before getting our rental car on Friday morning and heading off to the east side of the island to a town just off the coast in Son Servera. We could not pick our jaws up off the floor when we got to our hotel there. Imagine a bed and breakfast, old stone meets modern country estate. I booked  hotel AMIC HORIZONTE  through Easyjet's new holidays part on their website where you book a flight and hotel together. I picked Horizonte because it was the cheapest option and because I loved the views in the photos posted on this site. I was not disappointed. I was travelling alone but was given room 106 which was massive, I had a double bed, a jacuzzi in the middle of the room and a huge balcony that overlooked the swimming pool and of course had a great view of Palma. I was so happy when I saw my room - it was pretty impressive for what I paid. I only had breakfast at the hotel which was fine. The snack bar by the pool was good for paella and sandwiches/burgers etc and the drinks were all reasonably priced. The pool was a good size and just at the right temperature for the scorching August days. The area around the pool was nice too, it was pretty chilled and relaxing. Yes, the hard part is the walk up the 100+ steps from the shops of Porto Pi. To get here from the Airport simply jump on the no.1 bus which is parked outside the main terminal building (along the car park walkway). It runs every 15mins through to Porto Pi at a cost of 1.80euro. Journey time around 30mins traffic permitting. The bus indicates the stop by announcement and also a sign above the driver, so no Spanish understanding required. Once you arrive you see a very clean reception area. The hotel is split into two wings and from my experience here, the rooms on the right wing are of differing quality than the left; the rooms are larger & bathrooms more modern on the left side. You also have a keycard to lock the door. On the right side the rooms are slightly smaller, the doors have standard key locks, but larger balconies with commanding views over to Palma (around 1.5km around the harbour).
