I have just returned from a weekend at the Horizonte, having previously been there 8 years ago. We are a couple in our 50's. We had a fantasic time and were lucky enough to stay in one of the best rooms on the 9th floor. We had the most amazing views over Palma, the marina, the castle and the cathedral. The Horizonte must have the best views of any hotel in Palma. Although the hotel is at the far end of the harbour from the city centre, there is a taxi rank outside and it cost 6-7 euros to the centre. There were four of us so this was little more than the bus. It was a very enjoyable leisurely stroll along the promenade/ marina to the cathedral which took about an hour. Our room was clean and comfortable, with a large comfortable bed and a jacuzzi bath. There was a safe in the wardrobe but we did not use it. I did not swim but the pool looked clean and inviting. The breakfast was disappointing and I commented on this on the hotel's feedback sheet. The Horizonte is a budget hotel and exceptionally good value. It is clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful. Do not go expecting luxury and you will not be disappointed. Your satisfaction will probably be affected by where your room is located. The annex is at a lower level from the main hotel and this will affect the views. There is also currently a new apartment block being built next to the annex but this looks to be nearing completion but some noise is to be expected. The cheapest rooms are in the annex so you get what you pay for. I would recommend checking where your room is before you go. But if you are on a tight budget even the annex is good value and has views of the marina and if you are out during the day you won't even notice the builders!
